A chronicle of flying in Minnesota. Sunday, October 29, 2006. Northern Minnesota July 23, 2006. On July 26, a warm and sunny day I was up on the east side of Leech Lake and also Red lake, to land at several airports. Milaca MN was the first. The sun was not very high in the sky, so the turf strip was shaded by the tall trees on either side of the runway. It is a great landing strip. Next came Hanover and then Baudette, a great place as well . July is a pretty good time to visit this lake area.
